Dysport Treatment: What is involved?

Treatment with Dysport is quick: usually just 10 – 15 minutes in Dr. Hess’s office.

The effects of the injection become evident within 3 to 8 days, and the results usually last three to six months. When the effects begin to fade, you can return for a follow-up treatment.

How does Dysport reduce lines and wrinkles?

Just like Botox, Dysport is a drug commonly called a neuromuscular wrinkle blocker or acetylcholine release inhibitor. It blocks the nerve impulses that cause your facial muscles to contract and form lines. The ingredient is a neurotoxin, but the amount is so incredibly small that it’s considered non-toxic.

Will my facial expressions look natural after treatment?

With the proper injection technique and dose, Dysport will reduce wrinkles, creases and unsightly lines while maintaining your natural facial appearance.

Is treatment with Dysport comfortable?

The injections are quick and relatively comfortable. If you prefer, Dr. Hess can apply a local anesthetic to the area to make the treatment easier.

Are side effects possible?

Dr. Hess takes all necessary precautions to reduce the chance of side effects for his patients. However, possible side effects include numbness, bruising, swelling or a slight burning sensation. In rare cases, patients experience muscle weakness or a drooping eyelid.
